History
Nicoletta Calderon (b.2708, d.????) became Protector of the Taurian Concordat in 2726 with the assasination of Hampton Calderon. Nicoletta was only 18 years old at the time, but would go on to lead the Concordat through the death of the Star League and was one of the major architechs of its demise. Nicoletta spent most of her long tenure as Protector defending her nation from the increasingly severe burdens that the Star League was then aflicting the Periphery states. She also cultivated closer ties to those same states long before the Inner Sphere powers noticed her actions. The rest of her foreign policy was simply focus on improving affairs within the Concordat to clear the way for her to sieze any opportunites the Star League and the Great Houses might give her to benifit her people. In this fashion Nicoletta was able to better prepare the Taurian Concordat for the break down of interstellar cooperation. No other nation or state was so well prepared as the Concordat when the Amaris Crisis arose. [1]
Notes
There is no source that details Nicoletta's parentage. It is not stated if she was Hampton's daughter, although she was eighteen in 2726 and Hampton was at least in his mid to late 40's at the time of his death so it is possible she was his child. Nicolette probaly was not Jentarra Calderon's child as Jentarra was dying/incapacitated in 2694 and Nicoletta was born in 2708; she could be Jentarra's granddaughter by a child earlier in Jentarra's life. Furthermore it is doubtful an 18-year old distant cousin/kinswoman would have been picked to be Protector if there was a closer blood-tie to Hampton.
