Description
The Templar III is Dark Age era Assault Class OmniMech, first produced by General Motors for the Federated Suns. Intended as replacement for the original Templar, whose factory lines were destroyed during the Jihad. General Motors would establish a new production line on New Valencia for what was to become the next generation of the Templar with newer technologies.
As its predecessor, the Templar III is typically utilizes as Command 'Mech by AFFS forces. With its alternated configurations the 'Mech is able handle various combat situations using its Advanced equipment.[2]
Armament & Capacities
Among the most noticeable differences in comparing the original to Templar III is it's smaller Pod Capacity. The new 'Mech has a 29 ton Pod capacity in comparison to the old Templar's 40 tons. However, the 'Mech's heavier Light Engine proves for an improvement in the design durability while its retaining the original design's maximum speed and armor protection.
The Prime Configuration of the Templar III is not unlike the older WHM-8D Warhammer weapons load out. The Configuration is armed with its pairs of ER PPCs, Extended-Ranged Medium and Small Lasers and single 4-Tubed Short-Range Missile Launcher. The weapons are tied together with a Targeting Computer and cooled down by four additional Double Heat Sinks. The launcher's ammunition is protected by the Templar III's permanently mounted CASE found in its right torso.[3]
Alternate Configurations
- Alt. Config. A - Intended for Intermediate to Short range combat, the A Configuration is armed with pair of Large Pulse Lasers and two Medium Pulse Lasers. The Configuration's only long-range weapons consists of pair of 7-tubed Multi-Missile Launchers with two tons of ammunition.BV (2.0)=1,677[4]
- Alt. Config. B - Advanced Tech configuration, this weapons arrangement includes side-torso mounted ER PPC, with six Small X-Pulse Lasers. Additionally, B Configuration is intended for close-assault with melee weapons and assistance of four Jump Jets. Its melee weapons include a right arm mounted Hatchet, while left arm has Chain Whip. To help it get its intended target quickly, the 'Mech is fitted with a Supercharger. BV(2.0)= 1,919[5]
- Alt. Config. C - Second of Templar III's advanced tech configurations, which is armed with following: Class 5 Rotary Autocannon, pair of ER Medium Lasers, Six-Tubed Streak SRM Launcher, ER Smaller Laser, and single Large Re-Engineered Laser. The autocannon is supplied with 3 tons of ammunition, while 1 ton of ammunition is allotted to the Streak Launcher. BV(2.0)=1,968[6]

This Templar is armed with two Defiance 1001 ER PPCs, 2 BlazeFire Longshot ER Medium Lasers, 2 Diverse Optics ER Small Lasers, and TharHes 4 Pack SRM. There is no canon record sheet or details beyond the dossier itself regarding this variant.[8]
