Description[edit]
A Solaris VII BattleMech, the Tsunami was originally a workhorse 'Mech that could hold its own on the battlefield as well as in the arenas. It wasn't flashy, it just got the job done. Critics were unimpressed by the original Tsunami, so Omnitech redesigned it to take advantage of new technologies. The updated Tsunami reduces the armor weight but uses ferro-fibrous armor to make up the difference in protection. It also has a reduced jumping range of 120 meters. The most interesting change is the use of Triple Strength Myomer, which allows the Tsunami to get a minor speed boost and inflict more damage in physical attacks.[3]
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The Tsunami's main armament are its three Diverse Optics ER medium lasers and its two Federated Barrett Magshots. These are backed up by a single Holly Streak SRM-4 launcher.
Variants[edit]
- TS-P1
- The original Tsunami has standard armor in place of the TS-P1D's ferro-fibrous. It lacks the later model's Triple Strength Myomer but carries two more jump jets. Instead of the Magshots it carried two Machine Guns, as well as a pair of standard medium lasers instead of the TS-P1D's ER Lasers.[4] Instead of the Streak SRM-4 launcher it carried a standard SRM-2 launcher. BV (2.0) = 933[5]
Design Quirks[edit]
The Tsunami has the following Design Quirks:[6]
