Infobox Pictures[edit]
Hey, I saw that you uploaded some reseen pictures, and that's cool, but for every 'Mech we try to have the earliest image of the 'Mech in the infobox, so I think that the original and your reseen uploads should be switched. I'll go ahead and change it if none of the admins find issue with it.
Oh, and anyway, hello and welcome to Sarna! It's not that we want to undo your work, but we like to try and keep things tidy around here. Let me know if you have any questions. -BobTheZombie (talk) 14:43, 15 June 2016 (PDT)
- CGL explicitly said the new images retroactively supplant the old unseen imagery, relegating the earlier images to non-canon or at least apocryphal status while the new ones are, and retroactively have always been, the real thing now. Which is to say, Pat Payne is right when he argues the infoboxes should depict the new artwork over ye olde TRO:2025 stuff. Frabby (talk) 23:59, 15 June 2016 (PDT)
- Although we should keep the now-apocryphal reseen artwork in the gallery section on each page, because it's a part of the history of the game. Although I'm a bit worried about not having a copy of TRO:2025 now... BrokenMnemonic (talk) 00:01, 16 June 2016 (PDT)
- The old images clearly belong into the gallery, I'm not disputing that. Maybe even somewhere near the top of the article, too, because they have been the correct images for some 30 years. The question was which image belongs into the infobox, and here I am of the opinion that the images which are now established as canonically correct - i.e. the new ones - should be the ones displayed. Frabby (talk) 01:40, 16 June 2016 (PDT)
- Yup, I agree. My concern was not losing the reseen images, because if we can't record the entire of BattleTech history, who can? BrokenMnemonic (talk) 02:05, 16 June 2016 (PDT)
- If you look at this change I made, you can see a template we generally use when uploading images. It just helps keep things tidy. -BobTheZombie (talk) 18:23, 16 June 2016 (PDT)
- It's perfectly all right; you didn't know about it, so don't worry. If there's anything else you wanna help out with I'd be glad to show you around/how to get started. I hope the massive amount of messages isn't too overwhelming -BobTheZombie (talk) 13:04, 17 June 2016 (PDT)
Marion's Highlanders[edit]
I saw your cleanup of Marion's Highlanders, and I really liked what I saw. There were a couple of misspelled things left over, but you really helped with the readability and I believe you deserve your first award: If you like doing that sort of stuff there's a giant list of pages needing cleanup, and I can answer specific questions/guide you in how the wiki articles should look (formatting, stuff like that). Thanks for the good work and keep it up! -BobTheZombie (talk) 14:53, 20 June 2016 (PDT)
