89th Falcon Striker (Clan Jade Falcon)

The 89th Falcon Striker was an Operation REVIVAL-era Cluster in the Jade Falcon touman. The Cluster maintained a successful battle record, despite being an "embarrassment" to the wider Clan, largely due to the high percentage of freeborn warriors it contained.[1]

History[edit]

The 89th Striker -fostered by Star Colonel Devinnia Guili- disproved the general bias against freeborn present in the Clans, particularly the Jade Falcons. The 89th Striker's Delta Trinary was especially popular among the lower castes, which gave the Clan's leadership pause in disbanding the Cluster.[2] The unit was likely successful pre-REVIVAL, as it was only noted to be involved in one battle, attacking the planet Malibu during the Third Wave of the invasion and defeating the militia forces stationed there,[3] though it is possible that the Cluster joined the rest of the Galaxy in the attack on Apolakkia in the Fourth Wave.[4]

The Cluster later took part in the Battle of Tukayyid with the rest of Peregrine Galaxy in attempting to cross the Prezno River.

Post-Invasion[edit]

The Eighty-ninth Striker and the Fourth Falcon Velites Cluster were stationed on Graus in September 3053 when the Fourth Viper Guards and the 400th Assault Cluster attacked in search of a rumored Star League cache.

Because the defenders received a warning of the attack due to a similar push on Antares, the Fourth Velites and Eighty-ninth Strikers were able to stretch the battle out for three days and nights before being forced off world with heavy casualties.

Post-REVIVAL[edit]

The unit is not noted in any post-REVIVAL unit roster.[5][6] It is most likely that they were destroyed with the rest of Peregrine Galaxy on Morges against Khan Phelan Kell and the Exiled Clan Wolf remnants.
