Sergis Steiner was the commanding officer of the Ebon Keshik's Watch as of 3075.[2]

History[edit]

Star Commander Sergis Steiner was the second-in-command of the Ebon Keshik's Watch division when Star Captain Bhu Telinov was assigned to command in late 3071.[1] After the Wars of Reaving, Telinov had been promoted to deputy commander of the entire Ebon Keshik and Steiner took command of the Keshik's Watch, with his main objective in 3075 being the identification and elimination of the Dark Caste leader known as The Winter Lady.[2] On 26 August, Ebon Keshik commander Star Colonel Gavril Mikino authorized the arrest of The Winter Lady and her chief enforcer, although (unbeknownst to the Keshik) this enforcer was the Clan Wolf operative Garmen Kerensky on a deep-cover mission to steal Aleksandr Kerensky's from the Clan Homeworlds.[3] By not accounting for Garmen's training and access to multiple Points of Wolf Elementals, the Katyusha Keshik troops sent to capture the duo failed entirely and the fugitives promptly vanished into Strana Mechty's wilderness.[4]

On 5 April 3076, Garmen's Wolf soldiers and The Winter Lady's Dark Caste operatives resurfaced by launching a BattleMech raid against Katyusha City itself. With Star Colonel Mikino not present at the Ebon Keshik's headquarters the morning of the assault, Steiner and Telinov became chiefly responsible for the Keshik's response to the incident.[5] Steiner played a supporting role during the events that followed, including the destruction of both Kerensky's Retribution Wraiths 'Mech force and the Katyusha Keshik's Command Trinary, the hijacking of the McKenna's Pride, and the final escape of Kerensky's forces out of the Strana Mechty system on 10 April.[6] Steiner was also present at the meeting between the Ebon Keshik's senior commanders and ilKhan Hannibal Banacek and planned to take part in the operation to fabricate the Retribution Wraiths' leader's corpse to appear as the body of Aleksandr Kerensky, a necessary step to prevent the Grand Council of the Clans from losing its authority for failing to stop the brazen heist.[7]
