Marisura is located near the Ormstown and Mahrah systems.

System History

By the end of the Age of War, Marisura was a member of the Timbuktu Province of the Rim Worlds Republic.[1]

Planetary History

Reunification War

Civil war erupted in the Rim Worlds Republic in 2575, with the factions polarized around those loyal to First Consul Gregory Amaris and those loyal to the Rift Republican Army and the Rim Provisional Government.[33] Marisura was garrisoned by the Seventh Amaris Fusiliers, one of the Rim Worlds Army units to remain loyal to Amaris, and the Fusiliers spent the next decade in place.[34][35][36] The Star League eventually decided to intervene in the civil war in support of Gregory Amaris, and in 2579 assembled a multinational force headed by the Star League Defense Force to help secure Amaris' control over the Rim Worlds Republic,[37] but atrocities such as the one performed by the Draconis Auxiliary Corps when they captured Nightwish in mid-2584 resulted in the Rim Worlders putting aside their differences to focus on the common enemy.[38]

Assigned to the conquest of Marisura in 2589 were three regiments from the Second Marik Auxiliary Corps—the Second and Sixth Marik Militias and the First Brigade of the Fusiliers of Oriente—and two regiments from the Draconis Auxiliary Corps: the Fourth Proserpina Hussars and First Arkab Legion. The Star League forces successfully took control of Marisura, defeating the outnumbered Seventh Fusiliers, and the various units remained on Marisura until they were redeployed to Mahrah in 2590 and Barcelona in 2591.[39]

Star League Era

Marisura was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the 2773–2775 Republic-Commonwealth war[11] and vanished from maps during the Second Succession War.[11][12][14]
