The Star League Defense Force's Fourteenth Army was assigned to operations within the Draconis Combine Military Region.[1]

Responsible initially for the first district of the Draconis Combine Military Region from the Army Headquarters on Dieron, the Fourteenth guarded both the Federated Suns and Terran Hegemony borders, and often found itself facing challenges from DCMS ronin looking to test their mettle against the SLDF. In light of the constant conflict and challenges, including the Third Hidden War, the SLDF High Command assigned additional forces to the Fourteenth.
