History[edit]

The Seventy-first Phalanx was a second line military formation.

Operation Revival[edit]

Tukayyid[edit]

The Seventy-first faced the 321st Com Guard Division on Tukayyid after they were called forward to the aid of the front line Viper Galaxies.[1]

Post-Tukayyid[edit]

The Cluster was stationed on Graus in 3054[2] and was still defending the planet in 3061.[3]

By 3067 the Cluster had moved to Grant's Station.[4]

The final fate of the Cluster is not known, but they would not have survived the destruction of Zeta Galaxy or that of Clan Steel Viper in 3075.[5]

Officers[edit]

Rank Name Command
Commanding Officers of the Seventy-first Phalanx
Star Colonel Maya Thibaudeau 3061 - 3067[1][4]

Tactics[edit]

In the 3050s the unit contained mainly second line equipment and the Star Colonel used the knowledge about the weapons of each machine to great effect. In the planning phase the Commander can select the right machines for the matching situation. During battles the radio traffic was reduced to a minimum and this made their opponents insecure. Electronic Warfare was also of limited use.[1]
