On the surface, settled neatly in the center of Serenity Valley is the planetary capitol of Canton City, with its average sustained population of 200,000. This city's claim to export fame is its ability to quickly get out building materials, from simple clay to finely-crafted ferrosteel. The downside is, the area suffers from massive air pollution. The surrounding cities of Jaynestown, Athens, and Halab, support Canton in its materiel exports. To the north of Canton City, the Pindus Mountains is a long unbroken chain of solid slabs of rock jutting straight up, a rock-climber's dream. To the south, the Daglari Mountains block a view of the ocean. In the central area, where Serenity Valley is located, the Fertrendel Mountains rest, with its Selvartendron Mountain Pass continously being cleared of snow.
