Alstair Marsden (Born 2361[1] - Died 2408[2]) Lyran Nobleman, Tank Commander, Military Officer, and 2nd Archon of the Lyran Commonwealth.

Character History

Early Years

Younger Brother of first Archon Robert Marsden, Alstair had been part of the junior officer in the Commonwealth's Tank Brigade at time his brother had died. The Lyran Military High Command, convinced him that he was only one whom could fill in vacume of his brother demise. The Estates General confirmed him as his brother's successor.

In November, 11th 2395 he was sworn in as second Archon of the Commonwealth. From there, he showed he leared from his brother on how to foster bonds between people. He gather advisors whom were competent in their respective fields to advise him to help foster bond with Lyran people and help economic growth of the state. Shortly after he makes trade deals with Terran Hegemony and helps revamps the finanial sector. In 2398, news of of war breaking out between Capellan Confederation and the Free Worlds League had reach the Alstair. Feeling that more war was yet to come, he orders a military build up nation's armed forces for the future he sense was coming.[3] During a lecture of the high command on Japanese customers in 2399, Alistair meets associate professor Katherine Steiner. They quickly begin develop friendship that develops into romance between the two.[4] Few years later, Alstair marries Nordic tall beauty in 2405.

Kurita Incursion of 2407

In Janurary 2407, Draconis Combine plunges into the borders of Commonwealth between Tamar and Skye regions. The Kuritan forces move through light defended regions towards the Commonwealth's capital of Arcturus. During the early fighting, Commonwealth forces infuriate Alstair as they destroy industries on worlds Kurita about seize. Alstair dismisses his leading generals and assumes command himself. He then rallies his forces and fights the Kurita invasion force to brutal standstill on world of Morningside. The incursion opened many peoples' eyes of the Kuritans being now close proximity to nation's capital, so Alstair proposes to moving the capital to be moved to his homeworld deeper in the Protectorate of Donegal region, Tharkad. By September, the General Estate agrees to the plan and by December its made offical to move it. Early next year, Alstair comes to realization of Draconis Combine's next move against them would be. He assembles a reverse forces in commence a strike against what he suspects is Kurita's staging base on Vega.

Shortly after assembly a strike force, Commonwealth aerospace assets strike Kurita's stockpiles of military supplies on Vega. This assault devastates the Kurita's preperation for a second invasion into the Commonwealth and hands Altair his Commonwealth its first large scale victory.[5] However, shortly after, he his campaign moved to Menkent, where he was killed leading a tank regiment against a Kurita fortified position defensive position.

His death brought shockwaves, through capital and nation. His body was returned to Tharkad, where he was buried. His wife, soon after assume throne, but reclaiming her maiden name. Which marked start of Steiner line of Archons.[6]

Family & Legacy

During his brief life with his marriage, he and his wife Katherine had one son, Alstair. He died before his son's birth.

Alstair, last of Marsden line of Archons, was principly responsible for revamping of early Lyran economy, and creation of Tharkad City.
