Conal Ward (Born 2993[1] - Died 3055) - Clan Wolf Trueborn MechWarrior, Officer, and briefly Loremaster of Clan Wolf.

Character Description
In during the invasion and shortly after he was described as a tall man thin man, with piercing eye and black hair. He is a political savvy Clansman as well good tactician. Whom is devoted to Crusader cause.[2][3]
History
Early History
Conal roses from the ranks of Clan Wolf to become Clan Wolf's Delta Galaxy Commander. In 3038, he was subject of a competency trail where he developed a personal grudge against fellow officer, Ulric Kerensky.[4]
When Conal became Galaxy Commander of Delta Galaxy, he was known to enforce tradition of Bloodstart ritual for new members. Where he has new member of the Galaxy bury his first kill by themselves, has blood of their enemy taps onto their brow. They then make restitution to the victim's family.[5]
Clan Invasion
During Clan Invasion, he was leading element at helm of his Red Wolves Galaxy. He was also, powerful political nemesis to Khan Ulric Kerensky. He allied himself with like minded Warriors, who share his Crusader beliefs, such as Vladimir Wolf.
In February 3051, Conal was a candidate to replace Ulric due to his elevation to ilKhan. Politically, would allow Conal's crusader views would have allowed Clan Wolf political Ward alignment to change. However, his candidacy was over ruled by Kerensky, by appointing Natasha Kerensky as his successor as Khan of the Wolves.[6] He however would ascend to position as the Clan's politically powerful, Loremaster.[7]
However, after the events of Battle of Tukayyid in May 3052, secretly Khan Natasha Kerensky forced Loremaster Ward to resign his position as Loremaster and his command of the Delta Galaxy. He then announced resignation to fellow Warriors at Wolf Counsel that he was going hunting for bandits.[8]
Red Corsair Incident
After resignation, he became a commander of solahma warrior unit, 31st Wolf Solahma Cluster. He using his political connection and resources was able staff the unit with troops loyal to him. He was also able retain his OmniMech which would have been normally forced to give up.
In 3055, Conal became in league with secret plot to re-ignite Clan Invasion with elements of Clan Jade Falcon. The alleged Falcon force masquerading as pirate band known as the Corsairs, lead by their leader known as Red Corsair. IlKhan Kerensky ordered Conal's unit to intercept & destroy the Corsairs to prevent Treaty of Tukayyid from being compromised. With permission, the Conal and this Cluster were allow to pursue the Corsairs into Federated Commonwealth space.
In Pursuit of the Corsairs
Conal's force first arrived in Zhongshan system, where they caught Corsairs departing. Conal challenged Corsairs, but pirates fled due to their leader's injuries. In June, Conal's force arrived on Deia, where the local militia had mauled by the Corsairs. However, Conal and his force decided hot drop onto the Deia Militia's position and destroyed the damaged militia unit and its mercenary support, Zimmer’s Zouaves, for right of the position. In ensuing battle between the militia and Conal's Cluster allowed the Corsairs to escape.
Conal's actions on Deia cause political uproar with then ruling Archon-Prince Victor Steiner-Davion, which prompt him to dispatch the Kell Hounds to situation. Giving them orders to destroy the Conal's unit should they attack allied units.
Once Kell Hounds joined forces with Conal's Cluster, they attempted to follow the Corsairs to their next likely target, but were fooled by pirates. Conal and his Cluster split off from his Inner Sphere allies and his force manages track down elements of the pirates in the Yeguas. The Conal's Wolves are able to engage these pirates on Yeguas' moon of Cue Ball. However, in skirmish accordance to Clan tradition of zellbrigen where the Pirates used their terms to fool Conal's exhausted troops and escape from their clutches. However, Conal's force was able to supply Kell Hounds information that allow mercs to destroy a portion of the clan force. The Hound's success lead to liberation of slave of the Red Corsair herself, who supplied intelligence for the Corsair's intentions.
The Conal would deploy to Arc-Royal where his unit with the Kell Hounds would ambush the incoming Corsairs. There with the mercenaries, Conal's force manages to destroy a sizable portion of the pirates, but fails to kill Red Corsair and her surviving men.
Conal would soon take his unit and deploy it to the Wolf Clan Occupation world of Elissa. On planet, he setups his unit were to fend off Mercenaries and their Inner Sphere employers attempt from stopping the Red Corsair and his people from undoing the Treaty of Tukayyid. On the arrival of Khan Phelan Ward's Wolves & Kell Hounds, it reveal that Conal was in allied with forces behind the Corsairs and when he his issue a batchall to fight Kell Hounds and Clan Wolf forces. In the ensuing battle, Conal dies in duel with Khan Ward. While his ally Red Corsair is killed before she could detonate the nuclear weapon that would trigger the war.[9]

Notes
Conal Ward was noted as a Man O'War OmniMech, which he retained use through most his later career until his death. He was known to have his own customized Configuration for his machine when demand came for it.[10][11] He did not use this configuration in his final duel with Khan Phelan Ward.
