History
The FCS Indomitable was the second corvette of the Fox-class WarShips to be constructed by the Federated Commonwealth.[1] The Indomitable continued to serve in the Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth[2] and became a part of the Federated Suns black water navy during the FedCom Civil War. The Indomitable was one of twelve Fox-class WarShips to remain in service with the AFFS after the devastation of the Civil War.[3]
During the later years of the Jihad the FSS Indomitable joined the allied coalition and took part in Operation SCOUR, the liberation of the Word of Blake Protectorate; the Indomitable even took part in the battle for Terra itself in 3078, serving alongside her sistership the FSS Admiral Michael Saille in Task Force EARTHBOUND.[4] The FSS Indomitable was destroyed during the battle for Terra when her commanding officer.
Vice Admiral Walker Clay, disobeyed orders and tried to destroy the WoBS Beneficence, formerly the Avalon-class cruiser FCS Melissa Davion, which had been captured and suborned by the Word of Blake. The Vice Admiral ordered Rear Admiral Marcelle on the Admiral Michael Saille to follow. This action cost Task Force EARTHBOUND part of its cover and the Clan Diamond Shark vessel Red Tide was struck and destroyed by multiple nuclear warheads. Further, the Indomitable was lost with nearly a ninety percent loss of life though Walker Clay survived, and the Saille was critically wounded, her commander killed in the action.[5]
