As long as a Protectorate Militia force is fighting on its homeworld and is acting as the scenario's Defender, the Protectorate Militia force receives the Force the Initiative and Off-Map Movement special abilities.

If deployed as the Attacker in a scenario, the Protectorate Militia force loses its Force the Initiative ability, but retains its Off-Map Movement capability.

If deployed on a world other than its homeworld (such as an Epsilon Eridani force being deployed on Genoa), the Protectorate Militia force not only loses all of its special abilities, but also suffers a –2 Initiative modifier.

Although Blakist-based, Protectorate Militia forces may use standard Inner Sphere force arrangements (Lances, Companies, and Battalions) rather than Word of Blake force arrangements.<ref name="JS:BDp143">''Jihad Secrets: The Blake Documents'', p. 103, "Rules Annex"</ref>

The Ingress Protectorate Militia Division is one of the many militias raised by Word of Blake to defend the Word of Blake Protectorate. The unit was deployed on Ingress. As of 3075, it was the only unit raised from this planet.[1]

History[edit]

The Ingress Militia had lost so many soldiers fighting off the Small World invaders that they couldn't resist the occupying Word of Blake forces.[2] The Word of Blake launched a wave of attacks during the first two weeks of July 3069 that targeted the worlds of Bharat, Deneb Kaitos, Ingress, Kawich and Ruchbah; Ingress was one of the worlds to fall in the face of a conventional assault, and was incorporated into the Word of Blake Protectorate.[3] The Blakists established huge "reeducation" camps on the world, disrupting Ingress' agriculture production. The resulting food shortages caused a billion people (both on Ingress and on worlds that imported Ingress' food) to starve to death.[2]

Ingress was liberated by forces on the Federated Suns front of Operation SCOUR by December 3077. The forces that landed on Ingress were drawn from Group I, under the command of Major General Walter White-Davion of the Fifth Crucis Lancers. The Fox's Teeth had recently undergone a change in command, with David McKinnon leading following the death of Ross McKinnon early in the year. The resulting campaign was nearly bloodless, with the Fox's Teeth playing a pivotal, although unspecified, role in making it so.[4]
