Judith Cameron (Born 2359 - Died 2421)[1] was a House Cameron noble, diplomat, and the 6th Director-General of the Terran Hegemony.

Character Description
In her youth, Judith displayed a violent dislike of authority and seemingly lacked the brilliance that her family was known for. [2]
History
Early Life & Career
The youngest child and only daughter of Director-General Margaret Cameron, she never formally trained to assume the now hereditary position. Her mother had assumed that Judith was not likely succeed her, and that her older sons would become Director-General.
For a brief period, she joined the Hegemony Armed Forces where she continued to show her disregard for authority.[3] Soon after being discharged from the service, she became a novelist during her brother's reigns.[4]
In 2403, her brother Brian was killed on Elbar while touring a formerly arid world. Shortly after his death, she is contacts the High Council of the Terran Hegemony, where she informs them she is the only valid and able candidate to assume the Directorship.
The High Council was reluctant to immediately nominate her due to her lack of authority and attributes that did not measure up to Cameron's family's standards. After a two month of searching for a more suitable candidate, the council reluctantly agreed post her as a candidate for the people vote on. The citizenry of the Hegemony showed their faith in her, and confirmed her as Director-General.[5]
As Director-General of the Terran Hegemony
Reinforcing the Terran Hegemony for the Age of War
After assuming the throne, Judith surprised many as she she was firmly behind her late brother Brian's military build up. She also requested additional Castles Brians to be constructed on worlds that lay on the border of the Capellan Confederation and Free Worlds League. This was based on opening actions of the Age of War, betweens the League and Confederation in 2398. She saw the proverbial writing on the wall, Houses Marik, Liao, and Kurita would soon turn their sights on Hegemony.[6]
Actions taken in early years of the Age of War
In her early years, she tried to maintain the Hegemony's neutrality. Despite worrying about aggressive interstellar neighbors, she was able maintain good ties with the Lyran Commonwealth and the slightly less stable Federated Suns.
Her nation would be accidentally attacked or raided by Houses Kurita, Marik and Liao in the years leading to 2407. That year the Draconis Combine began it's incursion into the Lyran Commonwealth. Archon Alistair Marsden requested aid from Judith. She declined to take part in offensive actions, but offered to send troops to reinforce their Jointly-Owned worlds in Lyran Space. Alistair found this acceptable, since it would free up additional troops he needed to rout out Combine forces invading his domain. The agreement sent Hegemony forces to jointly owned worlds such as Blue Diamond, Lyons, and Nusakan. Her forces would first clash against Combine forces on Lyons in 2408. Hegemony forces used heavy WarShip support to coordinate the conflict on planet and then to repel the invasion of the planet.
In 2409, Terra Firma would be invaded by the Capellan Confederation and laid under siege for months until the Black Chargers Tank Division would have to withdraw from the planet. Despite this, the planet was liberated sometime later that year, with the [7] Judith's government would be at odds with Confederation despite its Chancellor's willingness to provide restitution to the Hegemony.[8]
The Ares Conventions and Retirement
In 2412, Tintavel suffered a major tragedy, where forced fight on the world would cause genocide. The atrocities of Tintavel would cause Chancellor Aleisha Liao to write up means to put end of such horrible events, with a documente named "Civilized Warfare". In order to encourage major states to take part in the summit to be held on world of Ares, she turned to Judith and her Terran Hegemony to assist in guarding the arriving dignitaries. Judith agreed to the request despite the split opinions of her nation. She felt it would highlight Hegemony's neutrality and make the nation look good. She had 10 flotillas of WarShips and men to guard the leaders of all interstellar communities to the Capellan world.
There Judith attended the convention where debate between Liao, Lyran leaders were for it, and Marik and Kurita were against it. Only Davion representatives and Judith remained silent during the hearings. Eventually, all but two periphery nations would sign the what become the Ares Conventions, which would in fact make war legal.[9]
In 2419, Judith would retire from office after 18 years of service. She then handed the reins of power to her nephew, Richard.
Family & Legacy
Judith did not have children. Her legacy was her aid in the establishing of the Ares Conventions.
