Description
The Mosquito IX Radar Plane is a long-range surveillance aircraft design.
History
Development
The plane was first developed by the DMI Inc,. of Caph in early 2400s. DMI Inc, using treasure drove of electonrics and communication equipment found in Rock Mountains on Terra, begun design a Radar plane. After several years, the company was forced to sell its manufacturing and its cache of high-technology from Terra to Mallus Brothers. William Mallus invested his family fortune re-designing aircraft to handle thin-atmosphere where he planned the aircraft to operate from. However, after seven years of development he died of heart attack, and his brother Nathan took over.
Nathan finalized the design and formed the Malrite Company, which first produced the aircraft for market in 2448. The aircraft was success in the Terran Hegemony, forcing Malrite to expand to meet to meet demand for the Mosquito.
Deployment
Since its introduction, the Mosquito, was purchased by various organizations. Initially, been put into service from Colonization organizantions, to provincial militaries.
The aircraft continued into the late 31st Century, where its deployed in new roles, such as fire fighting, refueling aircraft, and even as storm chaser. Planetary militia still employ the Mosquito in their milities in its original role. The Second Star League prior to it demise in 3067, has number of these aircraft deployed on both Huntress and Strana Mechty, monitoring the people of those worlds.
The company still producing the Mosquito been noted that it would sell more of the aircraft if price was not so high for its array of sophisticated equipment.[1]
Armament & Capacities
The current incardination of the Mosquito which premiered in 3059[2], which uses a single Extended Range Medium Laser to protect itself should be attacked. The craft is only protected by one tons of BAR 6 grade armor. However, the aircraft is not designed for direct combat. The craft is powered by Hermes fission engine, which been touted as being highly reliable which allows the Mospuito to adapt to varity of planetary environments.[3]
It does employ four external stores hardpoints, two per each of the craft's wings for external ordinance or additional equipment needed for any particular mission. The craft was designed to use the SISO (Slide In/Slide Out) module system which was seen used on Cortez exploration vehicles.[4]

The vehicle is equipped with a Liquid Cargo Bay with a 20.02 ton capacity with door mounted in the rear.
Variants
The Mosquito is has number variants use as of 3067, these include Fire Fighting, Weather monitoring aircraft, and some others. Noted variants include 3052 Model & 3067 Model, however these aircraft only differ only cosmetic appearence.[5]
Notes
The craft features; STOL, Prop Chassis and Control Modication, two ejection seats, 2 ton communication gear, hi res image camera, infrared image camera, look down radar, remote sensor dispenser and a refueling drogue.
Is unclear exactly when the Mosquito IX which stats are featured in TRO:VA profile actually came out. This is due to the inclusion of a ER Medium Laser which didn't exist when vehicle first game out.
As of the writing, the there is no published Record Sheets for this vehicle or its variants.
