Overview

Nobility is a state-privileged status which is generally hereditary. [1] This ruling system (known as feudalism) was once the source of power in the ancient time on Terra. With the expansion to the Stars and beyond it was reborn. It was the solution to the problem of the slow, inflexible behemoth of bureaucracy. The system is based on the exchange of responsibility and power. The ruler delegates some of his power to a his clan or trusted persons. The person answers to the ruler and is the representative of the state in their territory. Many titles were granted as a sign for outstanding accomplishments or as a gift.
