A DCMS Tai-shu is the commanding officer of all military forces in a Draconis Combine Military District. This rank was formally recognized during Theodore Kurita's reforms of the DCMS. Prior to that time, the term "Warlord" was a position instead of a rank.[1]
Though a Tai-shu can be from either the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery or Draconis Combine Admiralty, they are expected to act in the best interests of both services. Given their immense power, a Tai-shu reports directly to the Coordinator or Kanrei.
The rank insignia of a Tai-shu is based on that of a Tai-sho: A katakana number 5 on a background appropriate to the bearer's branch of service. The Tai-shu insignia, however, adds a bar under the insignia.
