History[edit]
Leftenant General Hamsun, serving with the Gacrux Skye March Militia, was stationed on Gacrux in 3050 and remained there by 3054.[2][3] By 3062, now-Colonel Hamsun commanded the renamed Gacrux Freedom Theater Militia and remained stationed on Gacrux. Hamsun was a skilled tactician and an inspirational leader of men but his membership in the Brotherhood of Cincinnatus lead to the stalling of his career. Having joined the Brotherhood after the War of 3039, Hamsun's formerly concealed allegiance gave way in the wake of the Lyran Alliance's secession from the Federated Commonwealth, allowing him to become an outspoken proponent of xenophobia. Hamsun condemned terrorist attacks as cowardly and believed that only stand-up fights should be used to achieve the Brotherhood's goals which, along with his skills and professed loyalty to the Alliance, prevented him from being replaced as commander of the Gacrux Militia. Still, the Lyran Intelligence Corps maintained a close eye on Hansum and his unit.[1]
Following the Federated Commonwealth Civil War, Hamsun remained in command of the Gacrux FTM on Gacrux as of 3067.[4]
