Ded Mek

Ded Mek was one of the most famous bands in the Federated Suns.[1]

History[edit]

The band, which presented its first album in 3045 was best know for their intricately planned and staged concerts, and songs with a blatant message in them.

Their first self-titled album sold six billion copies in the Crucis March, and a grand total of fourteen point five million Sphere-wide. This album included a song Dear Romano that rumors said had sent Romano Liao into a towering rage and sent a Maskirovka hit team after the band.

Their second album was Live from the Drop Zone and was the best selling album in the Federated Suns half of the Federated Commonwealth for three straight years and was consistently in the top five in the Lyran Commonwealth half at the same time.

The next four albums, Inferno Round, Hunting Jade Falcons, Dead Smoked Cat, and The Silence of the Dead did well, with the band retiring from touring in 3062, and completely retiring in 3064.

This all changed after the end of the Word of Blake occupation of New Avalon. On the 7th august 3075, FSNS interviewed the group's lead singer who announced that the group would prepare a new tour (which at that time consisted of ten planets) and would be publishing a new album by the end of the year called The Warrior Still Stands. The group's idea was to donate the proceeds to The New Avalon Relief Effort.[1]
