Karina Ayeed, known as "The Saber Smasher", was a notable member of the Second Arkab Legion during the First Succession War.[1]

Chu-i Ayeed was an ace MechWarrior whose cold and tenacious demeanor made her a bane to Armed Forces of the Federated Suns troops in fights throughout the First Succession War, even achieving near-legendary status during the Federated Suns third counteroffensive against the Draconis Combine's faltering invasion. When the Federated Suns assaulted the world of Strawn, Ayeed was badly injured and her 'Mech left in poor condition, requiring a months-long recovery for Ayeed and a thorough repair and refit for her BattleMech. When Ayeed met Davion forces in battle on Doneval II in 2811, she had cemented her reputation as a skilled anti-insurgent specialist and had taken to marking her kills as shattered swords on the shoulders of her 'Mech. Over the course of two months of fighting on Doneval, Ayeed added four more smashed sabers to her tally before the Second Arkab was ordered to retreat.[1]
Ayeed volunteered to serve in the unit's rearguard without hesitation and, alongside a few other Arkab warriors, prepared to face down a FedSuns demi-company of pursuing 'Mechs. However, the moment the Davion machines came into view, the normally stoic Ayeed flew into a berserker rage and charged towards the enemy force. Ayeed's rampage brought down one 'Mech before the Davion troops knew what had happened and she took out two more before her BattleMech was crippled. Ayeed's final act was to seize one last Davion in a "death hug" as she detonated her 'Mech's fusion core, killing both of them.[1]
BattleMechs[edit]
Chu-i Karina Ayeed piloted a Shadow Hawk-2H variant before it was critically damaged on Strawn. Ayeed refitted her Hawk to the -2K variation and piloted it until her death in 2811.[1]
