Description[edit]

The "DropShip-sized" Sylvester-class, known more widely as the "baby Sylvester" to differentiate it from the limited run Sylvester WarShip class, shared origins with the Lyran noble Graf Hans Sylvester. About 10 years after the last heavily armed civilian freighter stopped production, mostly due to the cost of the vessels, Graf Sylvester commissioned a more economic version, this time at with Bolson Shipyards at New Kyoto.[1]

Baby-Sylvesters were produced until the destruction of the shipyards at New Kyoto by Free Worlds League forces in 2787, early in the destructive First Succession War.[2][3][4] The production run was labeled "much wider" than its defunct larger namesake.[1]

The baby-Sylvester was described as "aerodynamic," but not otherwise described or detailed.[1]

Related WarShips[edit]

  • Sylvester-class WarShips were the first attempt by the merchant-nobleman Graf Sylvester to ensure Lyran trading dominance. The vessels ceased production after only four examples were built.[1]
