The 124th Royal Heavy Assault Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.

History[edit]

In 2764, the unit was assigned, as part of XLIV Corps, Sixteenth Army, to District 3 of the Draconis Combine Military Region.[2]

The unit attracted the bulk of Hegemony SLDF personnel obsessed with Combine popular culture: Draconis TV dramas, pop idols, and animation. This became the unit's distinguishing characteristic. Numerous complaints were filed regarding the images of cartoon characters and singers that festooned the regiment's BattleMechs, and though a number of the unit's machines appeared on the covers of specialty magazines, the majority of the Draconis Combine populace regarded the 124th with thinly veiled disgust.[1]

The unit was later moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery.[2] The 124th was destroyed during the Periphery Uprising in 2765.[2]
