7th Crucis Lancers

History

The 7th Crucis Lancers was formed in 2795, from Star League loyalists and and semi-independent units affiliated with the Federated Suns. Their first mission was the defense of Kentares IV from the Draconis Combine. Survivors of the onslaught became guerrilla troops. It is rumored that a member of McKinnon's Company was the assassin who killed Minoru Kurita. After the Kentares Massacre, only two companies remained. The 7th Crucis Lancers was kept on Davion rosters as a memorial. The unit was revived during the Second Succession War, but was again effectively destroyed after one mission in Kurita space.

In 2900, Martin Kane-Logan, a descedant of the surviors from Kentares, was given command of the 7th. By 2922 the unit was increased to the size of a brigade. Ineffective leadership by Randolph Kan-Logan forced the unit to be reduced to regiment size.
