The Beagle Active Probe (BAP) allows the unit it is installed on to detect units that would otherwise be hidden (No LOS, Fog of War, Shut down, etc.) It was first introduced by the Terran Hegemony in 2576 and subsequently lost in the Succession Wars by 2835. It was recovered in 3045 by the Capellan Confederation. The Clans never "lost" the active probe, but dispensed with the name "Beagle" after they refined the technology.
