The Beagle Active Probe (BAP) allows the unit in which it is installed to detect units that would otherwise be hidden, due to "Fog of War", no line of site, opponent shut down, etc. The probe was first introduced by the Terran Hegemony in 2576 and subsequently lost in the Succession Wars by 2835. It was recovered in 3045 by the Capellan Confederation. The Clans never "lost" the technology, but dispensed with the "Beagle" surname.
