History
The Dry River Devils were a mercenary unit working for House Davion. In 3003 they were sent to raid the "Capellan Confederation" world of Tsamma[1] (explained as an illegal revolutionary government[2] on what historically always was a Davion world). However, their reinforcements were delayed; the mercenaries were pounced upon by Warrior House Ijori. Forced to surrender, they had to turn over their 'Mechs to the victorious Warrior House.[1] The whole episode was said to be exemplary for a decline of Davion military prowess at the time, owing to Michael Hasek-Davion's machinations that encouraged corruption in the Davion administrative ranks. Hasek-Davion diverted funds to Capellan March nobles from whom he was seeking favors.[1]
