The Goshen War College Training Battalion is unique among the training battalions of the AFFS as graduates of the academy are not required to join. Instead a graduate requests permission to join the unit for additional training before moving on to an AFFS unit.[1]
Another interesting aspect of the Goshen Training Battalion is the fact that its composition changes with every graduating class. In 3062 the unit had enough equipment to field two battalions of BattleMechs and two wings of fighters. At the same time, the Battalion had twenty-three MechWarriors and five AeroSpace Pilots.[1]

Civil War
The Goshen Training Battalion wasn't involved in the FedCom Civil War.[2]
Jihad
The Goshen Training Battalion was stationed throughout the Federated Suns during the Jihad. They saw more action during the decade long fighting than they had in the previous four decades.[3] After the Jihad ended, the AFFS authorized the Goshen Battalion to copy the training battalion formation pioneered by the Sakhara Academy Training Battalion. The battalion was off to a good start, fielding two companies of 'Mechs, and a company each of tanks and battle armor.[4]
Officers
As of 3050 to 3067 the commanding officer was Kommandant Archibald Enoch, the War College's Commandant of Cadets and Director of the Training Battalion, he becomes later a Leftenant General, and promoted in 3067 to an Major General.[5][6][7][8]
As of 3085 the commanding officer was Major General Karsten McCarron.[9]
