The Hamar system was home to at least one habitable world, Hamar VII, and as at 3095 was one of four systems within the JàrnFòlk homeworlds, located in the Spinward region of the Deep Periphery.[2]

System Description
The Hamar system is located in Spinward Sector of the Deep Periphery, close to the border of the Coreward sector and close to or partially within the Vela Nebula.[2] The Hamar system consists of a class K6V primary orbited by at least seven worlds and is located close to the Ålborg and Trondheim systems.[1]
System History
The Hamar system was colonized at some point after the founding of the first JàrnFòlk colony on Ålborg in 2504.[3]

Hamar VII - more commonly known as Hamar - is an icy world with a single moon named Jotunheim.[1]
Planetary History
Hamar was settled by the JàrnFòlk because of the large metal deposits and other raw materials located there. The mining communities are dependent on special equipment to generate a livable environment for the workers and on food produced by the farming communities found in the lowlands. While both groups traded intensively with each other, eruptions of violence between the two groups were relatively common.[1]
The population of Hamar shared a common culture with the other JàrnFòlk - named for the Jàrnskib, or "iron ships" that brought them to their new homeworld - which had evolved during the time in which the colonists spent their time as itinerant explorers and traders, fleeing the Draconis Combine depredations inflicted on the Rasalhague Principality worlds. The JàrnFòlk culture was based on the Scandinavian traditions preserved by the original refugees, and the population of Hamar was kept in check by the feuding and rough lifestyle common to the JàrnFòlk. The population was divided between the subsidiary families, descended from the crews of the original JàrnFòlk ships, while the nine ruling families were descended from the command staff of the nine ships.[3]
While the JàrnFòlk language was a blend of several ancient Scandinavian languages, primarily - but not limited do - Danish and Old Norse, Hamar had evolved a distinct dialect unique to itself but comprehensible to the other JàrnFòlk, a situation repeated on each of the other three JàrnFòlk worlds.<ref name="ISP3p63">

Geography
Largely covered with ice, Hamar possesses a number of volcanoes that break through the icy surface.[1]
