Description

The Heavy Flamer was developed by Clan Jade Falcon after encountering large infantry formations during Operation Revival. [6] The Heavy Flamer is larger and heavier than the standard Flamer, but inflicts twice the heat and damage effects of a standard Flamer to non-infantry units. Conventional infantry units are in even worse shape when attacked by the Heavy Flamer; It inflicts 6D6 points of damage to conventional infantry platoons.

One key drawback to the Heavy Flamer is that if the ammunition is hit, it will explode, inflicting damage equal to an Autocannon/5 shell for every remaining Heavy Flamer shot. This is due to the high pressure of the Heavy Flamer ammunition.

The Lyran Alliance captured several of these weapons and was able to reverse engineer them. The Lyrans put them into production a year later.[7]
