In 3057, following the collapse of the Sarna March into what was now the Chaos March, civil war broke out on Hall as self-styled "Emperor" William Baranov sought to bring the world under his control. Count Radcliffe McNally hired the Burton's Brigade mercenary unit to bolster his forces (the McNally Guard. Meanwhile, Cater's Cohorts split off from Baranov's forces to form a third major player in the war.
