Description

The Longinus is the Free Worlds League Military's attempt at duplicating the specifications of the Elemental Battle Armor. Though they also failed to copy the Clan-tech machine, the Longinus comes the closest of any Inner Sphere attempt, thanks at least in part to the help of the Word of Blake. Though it has slightly less armor, the Longinus maintains the same jumping distance of ninety meters.

Armament

Another wonder of the Longinus is its integral One-Shot SRM-2. Other Inner Sphere battle armors were unable to mount the missile launcher, but the League and Word designers incorporated it by making the Longinus unable to jump until after the missile pack is jettisoned. This means that the Longinus cannot make anti-'Mech attacks as long as the missile launcher is still present, though it can mount OmniMechs for the purposes of transportation. An under-looked addition is that of the anti-personnel weapon mount that can carry a light weapon for use against unarmored personnel, such as a sub-machine gun. The modular weapon mount can carry the standard array of Small Laser, Flamer, and Machine Gun. In addition, it can also accommodate a "David" Light Gauss Rifle that has almost three times the range of the Small Laser, but only a third of the damage potential.
