Description

The Rock Hound Prospect Mech was introduce to market by Alliance Motors Limited of Sevon in 3042. The design was created for LosTech prospectors who need a good reliable WorkMech that could defend itself should pirates other potential threat arrise.

The design was successful for Alliance Motors, selling the Outworlds Alliance design to other foreign interests such as Taurian Concordat, Magistracy of Canopus, and private parties such as Interstellar Expeditions. By 3067, the design and its variants are seen in wide use throughtout the Inner Sphere.

Armament & Capacities

Unlike most IndustrialMech, the Rock Hound designed with weaponry as part of its standard equipment. It two shoulder torso mounted Shannon Fore SRM-4 Launchers with ton of ammunition. Guiding the SRMs is an military grade Advance Fire Control, allowing pilot hit accruately against any would-be attacker. The 'Mech is given nearly seven tons of standard military grade armor to protect its hull from damage.

The Hound is also equipt with Ejection Seat, which is not normally found in Industrial Mech designs. In dark locations, a Search Light has been added to its center torso.

However, the Hound's main tool is its Mining Drill which mounted on its right arm actuator. Using this drill its allows for it cut into harden ground to owner's potential ore or buried LosTech.

The 'Mech is powered by a economical Alliance Motors 160 rated Fuel Cell engine, giving it reasonable speed and power.

Variants

  • RH7A “Rock Otter” - This variant of the Hound, was created to allow the 'mech to be Amphibious. The designers added environmental sealing at the cost of the 'mech's Ejection Seat, left SRM 4 launcher, and half ton of its Armor. BV (2.0) = 510
  • RH7C “Rock Possum” - The Possum is the Cargo Variant of the Rock Hound, while retaining all its original equipment accept for its Right torso SRM 4 launcher. In its place internal mounted 3ton Cargo Bay is installed. BV = 534
  • RH7S “Space Hound” - This variant of Space Hound is similar to Otter, where all sections gain Environmental Sealing at cost of it Ejection Seat. The 160 rated Fuel Cell exchanged for a 160 rated Fusion Engine. The Right Torso SRM Launcher is dropped for a 2 ton Cargo Bay with reaction mass (fuel). This is to fuel the single Jump Jet also installed in that torso. BV (2.0) = 517
