Simone Marik - (Born 2440[1] - Death 2475) House Marik noblewoman, Politian, and the 14th Captain-General of the Free Worlds League

Personal Traits

Simone was noted for being blunt and for her intelligence. She was not being soldier and was reluctant leader. She also had passion for horseback riding.

Character History

Simone was daughter of noted bloodthirsty Captain-General Geralk Marik. She at the tender age of 19, was appointed by the Free World League's Parliament as Captain-General after her father's death on Loric in 2459.

When taking office, she quoted in her speach a Captain-General;

“My

first ambition is to avoid making history.”

She begun her tenured with instituting reform to the League's economy and push for technology expansion. Her foresign in leader her on her orders to NIA agents on Alarion convince Lyran technicians to defect with complete plans Lyran's new BattleMech designs in 2462.[3][4]

Through her efforts, she was able enable limited production of indiginous primative BattleMech, the ICR-1X Icarus. In one of her only noted military actions, she order the protoypes to battle against the Lyran Commonwealth's incursion into League space which started in 2468. The Lyran forces had taken back her father's conquest on Bella I and also took Cavanaugh with their BattleMechs. However, her military forces had been stalling their advange on Alula Australis. In mists with ongoing battle to take the planet, Simone deployed her Icarus prototypes to Alula Australis. There they, in combination with Armor tank forces and other assets managed turn the tide of battle for League forces.[5] So happy of their success, her soldiers conducted their own independent celebrations that went on for five weeks.[6] After their victory, Simone saw flaws of federal produced 'Mechs. With her foresight she gifted BattleMech schematics to several League corporations in exchange for greatly reduced bulk purchases of their BattleMech designs.[7] She set the stage of mass production of BattleMechs in the league.

During this time onward, under Simone tenure, wealth of the Free World League grew. However, the rivalry grew between the League and Terran Hegemony. Simone had re-shaped her military and economy for potiental volient future she concerned that lied ahead. Her people began to get the feeling that House Cameron wishing reclaim humanity under aegis Terra.

In 2475, House Liao Chancellor Jasmine Liao contacted Simone through number diplomatic overtures in bid to strength their nations through marriage. Efforts fail had refused to marry then twelve year old Raxal Liao as a spouse since her tenure as Captain-General would be over by the time of their marrage. Simone then suggesting one of her brothers would marry Jasmine's niece. This was put down by the Jasmine, as was Simone more ambitious offer. Simone offered several worlds of the Duchy of Andurien in trade for assistence in invasion of the Terra Hegemony. This was crisis in the League, Parliament took notice of Simone's failures.

This last diplomatic failure, cause the Parliament to no longer support Simone. So her tenure came up for renewal as Captain-General, the Parliament allow it to lapse to appoint new Captain-General.[8]

Family & Legacy

Simone Marik step down from office in and returned to public life. With five weeks of her retirement, she was killed in horseback riding accident. She was only 35 years old, serving the League's as it Captain-General for 16 years.

Having no children of her own, she was survived by her brothers Carlos and Brion.
