Description
The Texas class WarShip was first deployed by the Star League in 2618 and was meant to directly replace the aging Monsoon. The primary requirements set down for the new Battleship by the SLDF Admiralty was an increase in speed and heavy protection and the Texas delivers on both fronts. Where Member State vessels of comparable size averaged 1.5g's of thrust the Texas can reach 2.5g thanks to it's Rolls Royce Kraken engines and a massive ammount of Ferro-carbide armor was mounted on the hull for unrivaled protection, better even then that of the larger McKenna. Rounding out the design is some of the heaviest naval weaponry available, 40 aerospace fighters, and 6 dropship collars all combining to make the Texas a potent and deadly vessel.
Probably the most famous of this class is the Prinz Eugen commanded by Admiral Votok, although the Inner Sphere was unaware of her story until after the Clan Invasion. On August 19th, 2785 the Admiral rebelled against the command of General Aleksandr Kerensky during the Exodus and led a group of seven other warships and their support craft on a path back towards the Inner Sphere, convinced that the General was leading them to nowhere. A little over a month later the group was intercepted, captured, and given a quick courts martial at the jump point. Every officer above captain was executed, although Admiral Votok himself died defending his vessel from boarding actions. The strike against the Priz Eugen galvanized the SLDF exodus fleet for long enough to find a new home and serves to this day as a prison vessel, a grim reminder of the cost of disobeying the rule of law in Clan society.
Armament
The Texas is primarily armed with Omicron-45 Naval Lasers and Sunspot-3L Heavy NPPC's, giving it plenty of long range firepower. Two NAC/40's, one each mounted in the front quarter facing to give the maximum firing arc, can punch holes in just about every vessel of the day although the Texas has only a limited ammunition stock for these massive weapons. Four Killer Whale missile tubes and eight AR10 tubes, each capable of firing any type of capital missile, providing the Texas with the armor piercing firepower necessary when facing other cruisers or battleships. While certainly not the heaviest weapons load among Star League vessels it is quite effective when used on concert with the ship's heavy armor and high maneuverability.

Variants
Although very few Texas' survived the ravages of both the Amaris coup and the Exodus Civil War, the Clans respect the capabilities of this massive ship and so have maintained it within their fleet. The remaining Texas' have been outfitted with a Lithium-Fusion Battery at the expense of a portion of the cargo space.
