Vickers Mining is the major mining firm in the Trellshire Province of the Lyran Commonwealth. They have operations on more than 40 worlds, moons, and asteroids. Their specialization is the extraction of rare minerals and they have an impeccable safety record. One member of the Vickers family, Tamra Vickers, would join the SLDF and later help Nicholas Kerensky found the Clans.[2]
In 3022, Vickers Mining CEO Barbara Edwards solicited a second opinion from Victoria Jones of Jones Consulting regarding a mining operation on the moon of Waldorff VII. The report strongly advised Edwards to shut the operation down immediately as it was considered immensely dangerous; it was thought that an accident could easily cause the vast interconnected deposits of hydrocarbon "superfuel" (that had its own oxidizer bound into it) to explode which would at the very least destroy the facility if not the entire moon.
