George Brown was the commanding officer of the Lone Star Battalion for several years.[1]

History[edit]

He was the Lone Star Battalion XO when the unit had to end their service to the Draconis Combine in response to the Coordinator's "Death to Mercenaries" order. For the next 20 years the regiment clashed with raiders from the Capellan Confederation while in the employ of the Federated Suns.[2] At an undisclosed time, the unit's commanding officer Samuel Granger died and having no heir ready to take command of the unit, he took command of it.

Starting in 3050 the Lone Star Battalion was employed by the Taurian Defense Force. In 3067 they were working on Epsilon Eridani when a lostech prospector found a crashed SLDF DropShip on the planet, sparking a race to the treasure. Around 20/21 May of that year, an accidental weapons discharge quickly escalated the tense situation into a shooting war between the Lone Star Battalion and another mercenary unit on planet, the Redfield Renegades.[3][1]

After the fight started by the two patrols between the Lone Star Battalion and Redfield's Renegades on May 20th, 3067 at 0435 hours, less than an hour later, he found himself battling elements of the Redfield's Renegades led by Sarah Redfield-Barnes against a Lone Star base. He went as far as to put a bounty on Sarah Redfield-Barnes' head of 1000 C-bills[4][5] With eight BattleMechs in front of her and sixteen coming in from behind, Colonel Redfield-Barnes called for her aging Union-class DropShip for retrieval leading the drive through the Lone Star's base and off to safety.[6] He was downed during the fight and he had weathered the battle and, using a portable radio, was barking out orders to his people. When reinforces from the Lone Star Battalion arrived, he was being cut out of the remains of his Warhammer.[7]

After that, and with increasing distrust amongst the unit regarding the existing commanding officer resulted in him being replaced with the son of a previous unit commander, Meschach Granger.[8]

BattleMech[edit]

During the Epsilon Eridani incident George Brown was piloting a WHM-7M Warhammer.[1]
