Herman Manes was an officer in the XIV Hastati Sentinels, with the Republic of the Sphere, from at least 3141 to 3151.[1][2]
History[edit]
Epsilon Eridani[edit]
Major Manes was an officer with the XIV Hastati Sentinels in 3141, when they were part of the Republic of the Sphere force which attacked Epsilon Eridani, where Malcolm Buhl's faction of ComStar had built its primary base of operations in the planet's second newly recovered SLDF depot. It was here the ComStar First Division made their last stand against the RAF, though after ten days of brutal fighting, Stone's Revenants and the XIV Hastati Sentinels had effectively destroyed the Blessed Order. This included a final charge by Major Manes on 21 February near the Shamus Mountains against the remnant of First Division, which effectively shattered all major organized ComStar resistance.[2]
Battle of Terra[edit]
Still a major within the XIV Hastati as of 3151, Manes participated in the Battle of Terra, fighting with Task Force Blue Heron under Paladin Tyrina Drummond in China between Day T+15 and T+25 of the campaign. During this campaign, Major Manes orchestrated a heroic rearguard defense to allow Paladin Drummond to withdraw on Day T+24 in the face of a flanking attack by Clan Wolf's Beta Galaxy and Tau Galaxy from the Yellow River.
Despite his efforts however, by Day T+25 Paladin Drummond had been killed by the Wolves, and the survivors of Task Force Blue Heron had surrendered to Star Colonel Kalidessa Kerensky.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Herman Manes was known to have piloted a custom LMT-2R Lament BattleMech.[2]
