Planet History[edit]

Marsalle is a planet or system originally within the Free Worlds League that was annexed by the Lyran Commonwealth during the First Succession War.[8] Located in the Alarion Province of the Protectorate of Donegal in 2822, Marsalle is between Danxian and Radostov and vanished from maps during the 3rd Succession War. [9][10]

First Succession War[edit]

Marsalle was attacked by the Lyran Commonwealth during the First Succession War, to devastating effect, as part of a large-scale and protracted invasion of the worlds of the Bolan Thumb that began with the invasion of Bolan in March 2785. By 2811 Marsalle was one of only two worlds within the former Thumb to remain tenuously under the control of the Free Worlds League, the other world being Acrux; although the remains of the Bolan Defenders brigade had managed to keep control of Marsalle up to this point, the planet had suffered devastating damage, sufficient that the League had assessed Marsalle as having been damaged significantly enough that it would have to either be evacuated or abandoned.[7]

On the 14th of May 2811 Captain-General Thaddeus Marik effectively abandoned Marsalle and Acrux; he issued orders for the remaining survivors of the Bolan Defenders to make their way to Acrux, avoiding engaging the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces en route, and to then make a last stand on Acrux - inflicting as much damage as possible on the LCAF in the process, including extensive use of tactical and strategic nuclear weapons.[7]
