Captain Naomi Katina was a MechWarrior, who served with the Northwind Highlanders' Northwind Fusiliers, during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Blackout[edit]
A native of Bryant, Katina was the descendant of Highlanders warriors relocated from Northwind under Devlin Stone's resettlement program, and thus answered Countess Tara Campbell's call to arms after the Blackout. Her skill as a MechWarrior won her a slot in Captain Tara Bishop's Northwind Fusiliers Command Lance in time for the 3132 Battle of Addicks, together with Leena Cochrane and Joel Brane.[1][3]
First Battle of Addicks[edit]
On Addicks she participated in the fighting around Neo Carthagia, during which she scored three Dragon's Fury combat vehicle and infantry squad kills. Following this battle, and inline with Tara Campbell's own views, Katina blamed the Fury and the Steel Wolves most for the disintegration of the Republic of the Sphere.[1]
Second Battle of Addicks[edit]
Katina again helped to defend Addicks in April 3133, as part of a second Battle of Addicks, when it was attacked by the Spirit Cats under Liz Nostra. By this time promoted to Captain, Katina was assigned to lead the defense of Addicks by Tara Bishop, with the assistance of local militia commander Colonel Hans Doerring.[2] Responding to the Spirit Cats' initial assault on the oil fields located in the plains of Jesara, Katina forces were caught off guard, and were pushed back after a pitched battle.[4]
This however proved to only be a diversion, with the main Spirit Cats force targeting Addick's capital city Saint Randall, leaving Katina rushing unsuccessfully to reposition.[5] This left Katina the task of trying to recapture Saint Randall, a conflict which quickly became a stalemate, with both sides slowly feeding reinforcements into the meatgrinder. This eventually became to much for Katina's Highlanders, who were forced to retreat off-world in defeat.[6]
BattleMech[edit]
Katina was known to have piloted a Vulture OmniMech, serial number SJ706-15X. This 'Mech, which was constructed by Clan Smoke Jaguar before their annihilation, was captured by the Second Star League during Operation BULLDOG, and later passed from the Draconis Combine to the Republic following the Word of Blake Jihad.[1]
