History

First Draconis Combine/Ghost Bear War

As a part of Omega Galaxy the Tenth Bear Cuirassiers were directly involved in the First Draconis Combine / Ghost Bear War, which began in 3062 with a suicidal attack against Alshain by three regiments of the Alshain Avengers. The units of Omega Galaxy fought Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery troops on Schuyler and Meilen and then faced off against Clan Nova Cat forces on Yamarovka, location of the last of the surviving Alshain Avengers. Before Omega could engage the Avengers the rogue DCMS unit was destroyed by the Nova Cat's Zeta Galaxy, which then retreated offworld before offering even token resistance to the Ghost Bears.[1]

Zeta Galaxy's actions enraged the Tenth, who responded by hitting several Nova Cat worlds using Inner Sphere tactics rather than observing zellbrigen, which will lacking in honor did result in a series of victories - albeit the swiftest, most brutal victories of the war.[1]

The Jihad

During the Jihad the Cluster was committed to Luthien, and then supported Alpha Wave. The Cluster was effectively destroyed in 3077 during the blood baths of Dyev and Dieron and the surviving warriors were folded into Beta Galaxy.[2]

Officers

The commanding officer of the tenth in 3060 was Star Colonel Justinian Hall;[3] Hall was still in command at least as late as 3067.[4]

Tactics

The cluster was created with one goal in mind: to fight the Inner Sphere armies with their own tactics. This includes tactical retreat, massed fire and others.[3]

Composition

3060

- At this point in time the Tenth was stationed on Tinaca.

3067

Tenth Bear Cuirassiers (Regular/Reliable)[4]

- Stationed on Tinaca again at this point in time, the Tenth was at sixty percent of full strength although eighty percent of the Cluster was equipped with OmniMechs or equivalent technology.[4]
