The 2nd Lyran Armored Infantry are a specialist Motorized Infantry Regiment in service to the LAAF.

In 3085 the 2nd was a highly specialised infantry unit and one of several units attached to the 32nd Lyran Guards.[1]

Operating in 28-man motorized platoons organized into 7-man squads, each platoon of the 2nd is supported by 8 Firedrake Support Needlers, capable of shredding enemy infantry forces and setting terrain on fire. This, combined with the Mauser & Grey Needler Rifles issued to each man make the 2nd a highly effective anti-infantry formation.[1]
