Succession Wars
The unit conducted multiple raids in 2985, hitting Capellan worlds of Genoa and Fletcher. During the Battle of Fletcher, the 42nd tangled with Kingston's Legionnaires, the Hussars's Marauders proved be turning factor of the battle, inflicting over 60% casualties before the Legionnaires could be extracted.[1]
When the elements of the 42nd raided Genoa, they fought newly formed Trimaldi's Secutors. The raid when well, but cost the unit its three of its Locust light 'Mechs.[2]
The unit was sent in raid against the Liao world Thomas, where they fought again the Trimaldi' Secutors, and merc unit the Waco Rangers. The battle was struggle, when Duke of Thomas, Colonel Pavel Ridzik took command of Capellan forces and inflicted considerable damage against the Hussars. Reactivation
On June 22nd 3020 Hanse Davion issued the order for the crippled 34th Avalon Hussars and the damaged 36th Avalon Hussars to be combined into the New 42nd Avalon Hussars.
