History[edit]

As part of the Sian Dragoons, the Ninth Sian Dragoons were a part of the largest BattleMech brigade in the history of the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces - both during the Age of War, and then again in the closing decades of the Star League era as the CCAF began rapidly expanding and reactivating regiments - and a regiment that could trace its origins back to when the first WAM-B BattleMechs were issued to support the tanks of the Sian Lancers.[3]

Early History[edit]

The Ninth Sian Dragoons were best known for their 2528 raid on Oriente. They landed near Oriente Weapon Works and heavily damaged the facility in a two hour bombardment. This raid was a feint, and the Ninth's presence on Oriente allowed the 3rd Sian Dragoons and 7th Sian Dragoons to take El Giza and Mosiro. In 2765 they were based on Buenos Aires.[3]

Dark Age[edit]

The Ninth Sian Dragoons was one of the units created as part of the Hidden Lion initiative. Their presence on the battlefield didn't lead to conflicts with defending forces as often as it led to the Ninth's threatening to destroy major cities and infrastructure. After capturing a few border worlds this way, the Ninth was rotated back to their home Commonality.[4] In 3145 they were used to garrison Grand Base.[2]
