Settled at some point prior to the end of the Age of War[2] Afarsin was a member of the Magistracy of Canopus when a Star League Defense Force task force under the command of Captain-General Marion Marik was assigned to conquer the Magistracy of Canopus in 2577. Afarsin was targetted by the SLDF in 2583 with the 55th Brigade from VII Corps assigned to conquering Afarsin and with the 4th Marik Militia, 2nd Oriente Hussars, 2nd Orloff Grenadiers and 3rd Regulan Hussars in support.[4][18]
