History

Settled at some point point during the Age of War,[4][35] during the Reunification War Borgan's Rift became a target for the SLDF invasion of the Magistracy of Canopus during the fourth year of the military campaign. The Star League Defense Force task force commanded by Captain-General Marion Marik launched their attack on Borgan's Rift in September 2581 and while the planetary invasion force was smaller than those used during 2578 and 2579, it still consisted of a complete SLDF brigade - the 58th - supported by the 402nd Independent Regiment, the 3rd Marik Militia.[6][36]

Two mercenary regiments were defending Borgan's Rift at the time, Kincani's Dragoons and The Red Hand, and following the pattern used by the defending Magistracy Armed Forces units on Aspropirgos and Gallis the year before, the mercenaries stung the invading forces enough to contest the invasion and then retreated before the SLDF could mount an effective pursuit, preserving their strength as part of a general refit and rearmament campaign both sides were conducting.[6]

In the 31st century Borgan's Rift is a periphery world under control of Magistracy of Canopus. During Succession Wars world was crippled by economic and technological collapse. Up till year 3040 it was pillaged by pirates and held economical stagnation. Eventually it was sold to Shanti Magliss of Magliss Spirits who built warehouses and distribution centers all over the planet, yet Pirate attacks didn't stop.[1]
