During the Fourth Succession War, Carson's brother was killed on Wheel by a Lyran Commonwealth MechWarrior named Rider Chism. Carson swore vengeance against Chism and during the War of 3039 hunted down a Hauptmann Chism on Vega thinking it was Rider Chism. But, it was not Rider. It was Rider's daughter whose death further inflamed the feud between the two families.[1]
After Chism was named a Baron, the two sides frequently raided each other's holdings. The feud came to a head in 3046 when Rider Chism gathered his forces and attacked Kurita's estate on Kaus Media.
