Cosby Myomer Research Firm - (Cosby BattleMech Research Firm) Company Logo

Originally a technology research firm dedicated to studying new Myomer applications, Cosby Myomer Research Firm - (Cosby BattleMech Research Firm)'s success with Triple Strength Myomer and Battle Armor construction has catapulted into being a full-fledged military manufacturer, with several high-profile contracts with the DCMS.

Overview

Working in close cooperation with the ill-famed 11th Legion of Vega which are known for it's ex-commander Theodore Kurita, regiment, which also had a very competent techs and even full-blown research and design team[1], the factory has received thorough this a considerable quantity of the advanced technologies and the technical decisions, which allowed to transform own new-tech Myomer technologies into mighty No-Dachi Heavy BattleMech, in a exchange for half of all produced mechs.[2]

By taking funding from the Coordinator, CBR choose to make another, non-tainted by association with the Legion of Vega, (like a No-Dachi), 'mech, more fitting for picky, honor-obsessed units of the DCMS. By acquiring through hostile takeover a manufacturing rights to the Crusader mech, they made a complete restyling of the ancient machine, with a good success - their new mechs found a place into Sword of Light and Ryuken regiments. [3]

Where many military factories and industrial sites were raided or occupied by the Word of Blake during the Jihad, the Cosby plant on Kajikazawa not only escaped damage but instead actually increased the number of factory lines available.[4]

Manufacturing

Cosby Myomer Research Firm - (Cosby BattleMech Research Firm) has manufacturing centers on the following planets:

Vega

Components produced on Vega:
Component Type

NDA-1K No-Dachi[5] Heavy BattleMech
NDA-2K No-Dachi[5] Heavy BattleMech
KDA-2KO No-Dachi[5] Heavy BattleMech
CRD-5K Crusader[6] Heavy BattleMech
Battle Armor
Inner Sphere Standard [7] Battle Armor

Kajikazawa

Note: During the long Jihad, the facility on Kajikazawa, suffers no capital and personnel losses, and the operating capacity of the factory has the main production volume of 65% in 3079.[8]

Most of this slowdown has nothing to do with the factory production but the inability to efficiently ship the resulting 'Mechs out to the DCMS units on other worlds.[9]

Components produced on Kajikazawa:[9]
Component Type
Mechs
Phoenix Hawk[9] Medium BattleMech
NDA-3X No-Dachi[10] Heavy BattleMech
No-Dachi[9] Heavy BattleMech
Thunderbolt[9] Heavy BattleMech
