The Galaxy settled into a garrison position on the occupied worlds of Asgard and Tarazed. [1]

Operation BULLDOG

When the Second Star League launched Operation Bulldog one of the worlds marked for liberation was Asgard; when Star League forces landed - forces which included the Third Benjamin Regulars and the Davion Heavy Guards - they faced the Fourth Jaguar Dragoons as well as the Epsilon Galaxy Command Keshik. In the resulting campaign the Fourth Jaguar Dragoons were driven back by the DCMS forces, leading to the Epsilon Galaxy Command Keshik retreating into the path of a company from the Davion Heavy Guards.[2]

The large Elemental contingent within the Command Keshik and the superior technology enjoyed by the Smoke Jaguar warriors led to them quickly gaining the advantage over the Davion Heavy Guards; the tables turned when a company from the Second Battalion of the Third Benjamin Regulars which had been pursuing the Command Keshik plunged into the battle. The actions of the Third Benjamin Regulars turned the battle; the Benjamin Regulars forces included a lance commanded by Chu-i Hidekazu Moriyama which proved key to the battle, as the two Komodo-class BattleMechs within that lance cut a swathe through the Command Keshik's Elemental forces, with the lance as a whole also claiming two heavy OmniMechs as victims before the battle was complete.[2]

Notes

  • Epsilon Galaxy is first noted in the Inner Sphere in 3053 [1] comprising of only two clusters both of which had previously belonged to other Galaxies. Therefore it is possible that Epsilon was raised after the Battle of Tukayyid to rebuild Clusters shattered during the Invasion.
  • Another possibility is that Epsilon existed before the invasion and acted as a Reserve Galaxy rotating damaged Clusters in and fresh ones out. The jaguars had bid Three Galaxies to gain their Invasion Corridor. Cluster rotation was certainly one way around such a limiting force and may also go some way to explaining the large number of Jaguar Cluster fighting in Operation Revival. [4] [5] [6]
