Description

Field Manual: Federated Suns is the eighth in the Field Manual series that details the military forces of the various factions. This book focuses on the Federated Suns half of the sundered Federated Commonwealth and the AFFS/AFFC that protects it. The history of the Suns and its military units is brought up to late 3062, poising it on the eve of the FedCom Civil War. Of special note is that, in addition to the general loyalty rating given to each unit, each unit is deemed loyal to either Victor, Katherine, or neither.

FM:FS also introduced several new pieces of equipment for use in CBT games. These include the RAC/2 and RAC/5 class rotary autocannons, special munitions for use in standard autocannon, and the Inner Sphere's Targeting Computer. The book features some new 'Mech variants that make use of these, as well as the debut of the Templar OmniMech. Also debuted here were the Infiltrator Mk. II and Cavalier Battle Armor, as well as the Avalon-class WarShip. Finally, FM:FS saw new sub-affiliations and life paths for use in the RPG.
